The 28-inch round barrel is nickel steel and is marked "NICKEL STEEL BARREL — ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER," with the caliber designation "30 U.S." The receiver is steel, and an inspector stamp "B" is present. This rifle was manufactured in 1913 in the United States.
Sighting equipment includes a blade front sight on a forged base and an open rear sight with a stepped elevator, providing a traditional, practical sight picture for the platform. There is no handguard.
The walnut stock features a straight-grip layout with a shotgun-style buttplate and a slim fore-end. The stock is non-checkered, and the length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
