The Model 10-8 variant (circa 1977–1988) carries the long-running Model 10 lineage noted for massive production numbers. This example aligns with that era and is marked MOD. 10-8 on the yoke cut, with the assembly number present. Traditional S&W rollmarks are intact, including the S&W circular Trade Mark and barrel legends.
The heavy, non-tapered barrel is pinned and features a serrated top rib to reduce glare. Sights are the fixed service pattern: an integral serrated ramp front and a rear top-strap groove. The six-flute cylinder retains the classic unshrouded ejector rod configuration.
Construction is blued carbon steel throughout, with a case-hardened, checkered-spur hammer and a smooth, case-hardened trigger. The revolver operates in double-action/single-action, with a 6-round cylinder chambered in .38 Special.
Aftermarket laminated hardwood finger-groove target grips with brass escutcheon/screw are installed, offering a target-style hand fit. Also included is a factory S&W walnut Magna-style right grip panel with gold medallion.
