Built in 1945, this carbine reflects New Haven production during the pre-64 era, with the desirable top-eject configuration. It carries the classic 20" round barrel and a full-length tubular magazine with a 6+1 capacity. This example has the rounded front barrel band.
The barrel is marked "30 W.C.F.", the earlier nomenclature for .30-30 used before 1950. Additional rollmarks include "MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA", "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL", and "WINCHESTER (TRADE MARK) - MODEL 94 - 30 W.C.F."
Sighting is period-correct and practical, with a hooded ramp front sight and a drift-adjustable rear sight with a step elevator. The left receiver wall is drilled and tapped with filler screws for a receiver peep sight, offering a traditional sight upgrade path.
The rifle wears walnut furniture, including a straight-grip stock with no checkering and a walnut carbine forend. A steel serrated carbine buttplate and a blued steel receiver complete the classic carbine profile. Length of pull measures 13.0".
