The HK4 is a modular design originally engineered to support four calibers (.22 LR, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, and .380 ACP). This pistol is configured for .32 ACP and includes .22 LR conversion components, expanding its versatility with authentic factory parts. It sits within the German customs/police serial block (approx. 40,001–52,400), aligning with documented West German Police use.
Built on a hard-anodized aluminum-alloy frame with a steel barrel, the HK4 uses a DA/SA straight blowback system and offers an 8+1 capacity in .32 ACP. Safety features include a manual safety/decocker, a firing-pin block/misalignment safety, and a magazine safety. The exposed spurred hammer and DA/SA trigger provide familiar handling and control.
Fixed sights consist of a blade front and a square-notch rear for a clean, snag-resistant profile. Checkered black grip panels with the molded HK logo provide positive purchase. Markings include the 'Mod. HK 4' legend, the caliber window marked '7,65', and a stamped '10/70', along with the 'HECKLER & KOCH GMBH - OBERNDORF/N - MADE IN GERMANY' rollmark.
Import status is clearly identified by the 'HK CHANTILLY Va' mark. This example includes the factory box and the original orange-cover owner's manual; the manual notably lists a misprinted caliber entry '308 ACP' instead of '380 ACP'. The package is rounded out by a mix of .32 ACP and .22 LR magazines, confirmed by factory stampings.
