This Second Generation F-Series revolver reflects Colt-supervised assembly and finishing in the United States, circa 1978–1982. As a 2nd Model Dragoon, it carries rectangular cylinder stop notches and a squareback brass trigger guard, traits that distinguish this variant within the Dragoon lineage.
The 7.5-inch barrel has a part-octagon to round profile and includes the correct loading lever with front latch. Fixed sights consist of a dovetailed brass blade front and a hammer-notch rear, providing a period-correct sight picture for this .44-caliber, six-shot, single-action percussion revolver.
Finishes and materials follow traditional patterns: a blued barrel and cylinder paired with a casehardened bone-charcoal steel frame and receiver, and a one-piece walnut grip. The full-size build delivers the substantial profile associated with the Dragoon design.
Markings are faithful to the original pattern. The barrel top reads "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY." The cylinder bears the Ormsby "Ranger and Indian fight" scene with "MODEL U.S.M.R." and "COLT'S PATENT" panels. Major parts are matching; the buttstrap shows the last four digits 3734.
