Mannlicher-Steyr Modelo 1912 Chilean Contract 7.62x51 NATO Conversion Bolt-Action Rifle, 24" Barrel
This Mannlicher-Steyr Modelo 1912 is a Chilean contract bolt-action rifle made in Austria between 1912 and 1914, and later converted to 7.62x51 NATO. It is receiver-marked "7.62" over "N" to denote the conversion, and it retains period and contract-identifying markings including a Chilean-style crest over "MODELO 1912" on the receiver ring and "WAFFENFABRIK STEYR" over "AUSTRIA" on the left receiver wall. With its Mauser platform action, fixed internal magazine, and classic iron sights, it is a clearly documented example of an early 20th-century Steyr contract rifle adapted for a later service caliber.
