Built by Izhevsk in 1944, this M1895 represents wartime Russian production with the factory's arrow-in-triangle-within-circle emblem and Soviet/Cyrillic inspection and acceptance stamps. The revolver also bears the PW ARMS REDMOND WA M1895 RUSSIA 7.62 x 38R importer stamp, clearly identifying its import provenance.
Chambered in 7.62 Nagant (7.62x38R), the seven-shot cylinder and the model's hallmark gas-seal system move the cylinder forward on firing to seal the cylinder gap. It operates in double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer, and loads via a side gate with an under-barrel ejector rod.
The externally threaded muzzle and the replacement checkered reddish synthetic grip panels are notable customizations on this example. The revolver retains a blued steel frame, cylinder, and receiver, with fixed sights consisting of a front blade and a rear notch in the topstrap.
Practical features include a lanyard ring on the butt and a full-size profile with a 4.5 inch barrel. The bore condition is good with well-defined rifling, supporting the revolver's functional status noted above.
