This Model 77R represents the tang-safety era of the Ruger 77 line, combining a steel blued receiver and 24-inch sporter-contour barrel with a clean, no-sights "R" configuration. The receiver features integral Ruger scope-mount dovetails, and matching Ruger-pattern rings are included to simplify mounting glass.
Chambered in .300 Win. Mag. with a 4-round internal box magazine and hinged floorplate, it uses a traditional bolt-action system with a tang-mounted two-position safety. The 14.0-inch length of pull supports a solid shoulder mount and consistent trigger reach.
The walnut stock shows classic Ruger styling with cut checkering, a contrasting black fore-end tip, and a pistol-grip cap set with the Ruger medallion. A recoil pad and quick-detach sling swivel studs are installed, and a leather sling is included for carry.
An aftermarket clamp-on muzzle brake is installed on the 24-inch barrel. The rifle retains its blued finish throughout the steel receiver and barrel, aligning with its 1980s production era and American manufacture.
