What’s Included
- FN Browning Superposed Grade I Field 12 Gauge over/under shotgun
Belgian-made by FN for Browning, this Grade I Field model embodies the classic Superposed form with a steel receiver and barrels, factory engraving in bordered panels, and a deep blued finish. The round-knob pistol grip and long-tang trigger guard reflect the desirable early configuration associated with 1950s production.
The 28-inch steel barrels carry a ventilated, matted rib with a single front bead and no mid-bead. Chambers are 2 3/4 inches, and the barrels are marked "Special Steel — 12 GA — Shells 2 3/4." Fixed Full and Improved Modified chokes provide versatile patterning suitable for traditional field use.
Controls are straightforward: a break-action over/under layout with a single trigger and top-tang safety. The walnut stock features a round-knob pistol grip with checkering, a Browning marked buttplate, and a 13.25-inch length of pull. Up front, a field-style checkered forend with a triangular point pattern complements the handling.
Markings include "MADE IN BELGIUM," the Browning Arms Company — St. Louis, Missouri import mark, and Belgian proof stamps. Patent numbers 2,205,378 and 2,235,861 are roll-stamped on the barrel, reinforcing its period-correct details. Capacity is two rounds.
