- J. Stevens A. & T. Co. Favorite Model 1894 single-shot rifle in .22 LR with 22" barrel
- 1927 mercury dime inlaid in the left buttstock
Built in the early 1900s, this Favorite Model 1894 is chambered in .22 LR and uses a single-shot falling-block action with an external hammer. It has a 22" steel barrel and a one-round capacity. The Favorite series is identified on the buttplate, and the barrel bears the Chicopee Falls address and patent marking.
The rifle features a practical takedown design using a large slotted screw with a wire D-ring. A sling or handy ring is positioned at the takedown screw, and the top of the receiver is octagonal, reflecting period construction details.
Factory-style iron sights include a dovetailed front blade and an open rear sight with a stepped elevator. These sights provide straightforward elevation adjustment for typical small-bore use of the era.
The straight-grip wood buttstock and slim forearm are paired with a black hard-rubber buttplate molded "J. STEVENS FAVORITE." Length of pull measures 12.75". A 1927 mercury dime is neatly inlaid into the left side of the buttstock, adding a distinctive custom detail.
Markings on the barrel read "J. STEVENS A. & T. CO., CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.
PAT APR 17 94." The rifle was made in the United States and represents the early 1900s era of Stevens production.
