The Model 722A Standard Grade is part of Remington’s short-action lineage that led to the later Model 700. This example retains the internal 4-round box magazine for a 4+1 capacity and uses non-hinged bottom metal. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting.
The 24 inch barrel is chambered in .257 Roberts and carries the barrel date/inspection stamp marked "OC 30," aligning with 1956 production. The rear barrel dovetail is intentionally filled with a blank, while the front sight is a hoodless matted ramp with a dovetailed blade.
The walnut stock presents a sporter profile with a straight comb and no checkering, and is equipped with sling swivel studs. A Remington-branded ventilated recoil pad with white/black line spacers is installed in place of the factory metal buttplate, setting the length of pull at 13.0 inches.
Optics are set up with a one-piece base and split rings mounting a Weaver K4 scope with a 1-inch tube. This straightforward configuration complements the rifle’s clean sporting layout and the drilled-and-tapped receiver.
