What’s Included
- Harrington & Richardson (H&R) M16A1 Retro semi-automatic rifle in 5.56mm NATO
- Fixed magazine installed (ASC floorplate), configured for 10+1 capacity
The rifle is built on forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers finished in a medium gray Type III hard-coat anodize, paired with black polymer furniture for an authentic A1 appearance. The upper features a fixed carry handle with A1 rear aperture and windage drum, no case deflector, a forward assist, and a standard ejection-port cover.
The 20 in pencil-profile barrel uses a rifle-length gas system and is capped with an A1 birdcage flash suppressor with 360° slots. The A1 front sight base includes an adjustable post, bayonet lug, and sling swivel. Other correct details noted include a forging mark identified as “C over 2.”
Markings include the H&R lion logo; “PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT. / M16A1 / CAL. 5.56 MM”; “HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON / WEST COLUMBIA, SC / U.S.A.”; and selector legends “SAFE – SEMI – AUTO.” Furniture is true to the period with rifle-length triangular A1 handguards, a fixed stock with trap-door buttplate, and an A1 checkered pistol grip.
This example is configured with a Cross Armory fixed-magazine device and a replaced magazine release. The magazine is locked into the receiver; to load the rifle, the user opens the upper and then closes it after charging. It is set up for a 10+1 capacity, and the inserted magazine shows an ASC floorplate marked “ASC – NEW BRITAIN, CT.”
