Product Description

Springfield Armory Model 1903 .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle, 24 inch Barrel, WWII 1942, SA Flaming Bomb, M1905 Ladder Sight, High-Hump Handguard

This WWII-era Springfield Armory Model 1903 is chambered in .30-06 and features a barrel marked "S A" with the flaming bomb and the date "11-42," plus receiver ring markings "U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903." It retains the desirable high-hump handguard and the M1905 ladder rear sight. The bore shows a clean, mirror finish with well-defined rifling, pairing classic 1903 configuration with strong shooter appeal and collectible production markings.

The rifle is built on a cock-on-open, Mauser-pattern action with a straight bolt handle and knurled cocking piece. It uses an internal 5-round staggered-column magazine with a charger/stripper-clip guide and a magazine cutoff on the left receiver wall. Furniture includes a straight-grip walnut stock, walnut high-hump handguard, and a steel buttplate with a trapdoor.

    What's Included

    • Rifle sling

The barrel is Springfield Armory marked with the flaming bomb and dated 11-42, aligning it with WWII production. The receiver ring is properly marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903," reinforcing its period identity and factory origin.

Sighting equipment consists of a pinned blade front and the barrel-mounted M1905 ladder rear sight with elevation and windage adjustments. The high-hump walnut handguard protects the rear sight base, reflecting the intended service configuration.

The rifle retains military pattern hardware, including a bayonet lug at the upper band, stacking swivel, sling swivels, and a steel buttplate with trapdoor. The straight-grip walnut stock provides a 13.0 inch length of pull.

The cock-on-open bolt action is paired with a 24 inch barrel and iron sights. Feeding is via the internal 5-round staggered-column magazine, with a charger guide for rapid loading and a left-side magazine cutoff lever for controlled-fire use.

Overall, this 1903 presents as a clean WWII-dated example with correct markings and classic features, highlighted by a mirror-bright bore and well-defined rifling.
