This vz. 52 is a VOP 91-marked Czech military arsenal refurbishment, with inspection and proof marks including VOP 91, C5 in oval, 98, and crossed swords 54. The serial number is repeated on the frame, slide, and barrel, aligning with military practice for the model.
Built on a full-size steel frame, the pistol uses a short-recoil, roller-locked, single-action system with an external hammer. Controls include a heel-type magazine release, a manual safety, a decocker, and a firing pin block.
Sights are fixed, with a blade front and a notch rear. The 4.7 inch barrel and standard 8+1 capacity reflect the service configuration. A lanyard loop at the butt and brown ribbed bakelite-type grip panels retained by a transverse steel strap are correct for the pattern.
Produced in Czechoslovakia during the early Cold War period, approximately 200,000 vz. 52 pistols were made from 1952 to 1954. This example represents the 1954 production year, combining distinctive Czech engineering with the high-velocity 7.62x25mm Tokarev cartridge.
