What's Included
- A. Uberti 1871 Open-Top Early Model Navy revolver chambered in .45 Colt
The Early Model Navy configuration features a brass trigger guard and brass backstrap paired with the Navy-style grip shape. Its open-top Colt-pattern frame uses a wedge-retained barrel assembly with a loading gate, staying true to the classic design while offering modern production quality.
The 5.5 inch round steel barrel is paired with fixed sights: a front blade and a rear notch cut into the barrel at the breech. The ejector assembly uses a crescent head for familiar handling. Inside, the 6-groove rifling with a 1:16 inch right-hand twist supports the .45 Colt chambering.
The frame is color case-hardened, while the barrel and cylinder wear a blued finish. The steel cylinder is roll-engraved with the W. L. Ormsby naval battle scene, and the hammer has a checkered spur with a fixed firing pin. A hammer bar safety is incorporated for added security.
Markings include the frame patent dates (July 25, 1871 and July 2, 1872), Stoeger-Accokeek import marks, and Italian proof cartouches. Additional proofs include a "PSF" smokeless proof on the cylinder. This six-shot revolver is made in Italy by A. Uberti as a faithful reproduction of the historic 1871 Open-Top pattern.
