Lateral compensation ports are cut near the muzzle to help manage the .300 Wby. Mag. cartridge.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

    What's Included

    • Weatherby Mark V Deluxe .300 Wby. Mag. bolt-action rifle
    • Scope mounts installed on the receiver

The 24 in sporter-profile barrel is high-polish blued with a recessed crown and unbranded lateral porting near the muzzle. Barrel has compensation ports cut near the muzzle. This will greatly reduce recoil. There is no separate muzzle brake installed, preserving the rifle’s clean profile.

The Mark V magnum action uses nine locking lugs and a short 54° bolt lift for rapid cycling and strong lock-up. It is a right-hand bolt with a cocking indicator and three gas-relief holes in the bolt body. Safety is managed by a bolt-shroud safety with a red indicator. Feeding is from an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate for a 3+1 capacity.

The high-gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock is configured for right-handed use with a cheekpiece and wrap-around skip-line checkering for a confident hold. Accents include a rosewood fore-end tip with a white-line spacer and a rosewood grip cap with diamond inlay and a white-line spacer. A ventilated recoil pad and sling swivel studs are fitted, and the length of pull measures 13.5 in.

This Japan/Howa-era rifle (1972–1994) bears South Gate, Calif. and Made in Japan rollmarks, along with U.S. Patent No(s). 3,013,355. The receiver is drilled and tapped and currently fitted with scope mounts.

The rifle is finished in a high-polish blue and is configured without iron sights. An H-prefix serial denotes Howa/Japan production.
