Built on the robust M1917 action, this rifle offers controlled-round-feed and cock-on-closing operation with an internal magazine capacity of 6+1. The 26-inch Remington barrel is wartime marked "R [flaming bomb] 5 18," indicating May 1918 manufacture, and the front sight base is stamped "R."
U.S. Ordnance flaming bomb stamps appear on the receiver, barrel, and bolt handle, complemented by Eagle’s head over letter/number inspector marks on key components. The rifle retains the M1917 receiver ears/base. The front sight is a ramped bead.
The aftermarket walnut sporter stock features a Monte Carlo comb and a left-side cheekpiece for a raised, consistent cheek weld. It is smooth and uncheckered, with white-line spacers at the butt, grip cap, and forend tip, plus a black grip cap, black buttplate, and black forend tip. Sling swivel studs and swivels are installed, and a leather carry sling is attached. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Original military bottom metal is retained, including the trigger guard and floorplate. Receiver material is steel. The result is a sporterized M1917 that combines WWI-era Remington markings and configuration details with practical field updates.
