What’s Included
- Bayonet with metal scabbard and leather frog; ricasso marked "E.A.B." and crown over "052"
Built on a Carl Gustafs 1911 receiver, this rifle carries the crowned C monogram crest and the "CARL GUSTAFS STADS GEVÄRSFAKTORI 1911" marking, plus Swedish crown inspection stamps. These markings identify its origin and era and tie it to early 1910s Swedish military production.
Configured as an m/96-38, it is a Swedish Mauser m/96 long rifle converted to the short rifle pattern, featuring a 24 in barrel and a full-length hardwood stock with finger-grooves and a brass stock disk. Sling swivels are positioned at the butt (bottom) and on the lower band (side), and the nosecap includes a bayonet lug assembly.
The Mauser action uses a straight bolt handle and a non-rotating claw extractor, feeding from a 5-round internal box magazine with charger loading via the receiver bridge. A three-position flag safety is fitted, and the receiver is steel. The length of pull measures 14.0.
Sighting is via iron sights: an unhooded front post paired with a tangent rear sight with a sliding ramp. This setup reflects the standard Swedish military configuration for the m/96-38.
The rifle’s numbers are mostly matching, with many parts bearing the last three digits "205." The front band is not numbers-matched and is stamped "044." A period bayonet is included, marked "E.A.B." with a crown over "052," complete with metal scabbard and leather frog.
