This U.S.-made Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag-Jorgensen is the final iteration of the Krag line and the first standard U.S. smokeless-powder service rifle in .30-40 Krag. It features the Krag's distinctive right-side loading gate and side-mounted magazine box, a 30-inch rifle-length barrel, and military pattern sights. It comes with a U.S. Krag knife bayonet and steel scabbard, adding period-correct capability to the rifle.

The Model 1898's right-side hinged loading gate and side-mounted magazine box are hallmark features of the Krag-Jorgensen system. This configuration provides a 5+1 capacity and is unique among U.S. service rifles of its era.
The rifle wears a 30-inch barrel and military iron sights, including a ladder rear sight with a right-side windage knob and a fixed front blade. A bayonet lug is integral to the front band, pairing correctly with the included knife bayonet and scabbard.
The full-length military stock with a finger groove and separate upper handguard reflects the service configuration. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches, offering a traditional rifle fit.
