This Remington Model 722 is a short-action bolt rifle chambered in .257 Roberts from the 1948–1962 era, built in the United States. It features a 24 inch barrel, a cylindrical receiver drilled and tapped for optics with a scope mount currently installed, and an internal 4-round magazine. The walnut sporting stock retains classic Model 722 styling, and the barrel carries Remington patent rollmarks and a barrel date code stamp.

Bore Overall Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

    What’s Included

    • Remington Model 722 .257 Roberts bolt-action rifle
    • Installed scope mount (staked)
    • Fixed sling loops

The Model 722 is Remington’s short-action bolt platform, noted here with a cylindrical receiver drilled and tapped from the factory and a right-hand bolt with a round knob. Feeding is through an internal box magazine with a non-hinged bottom plate, cataloged for 4 rounds in this chambering.

The 24 inch barrel is paired with a ramped front sight that carries a dovetailed blade. No rear barrel sight is visible on this example. The barrel rollmarks include U.S. patent numbers 2,473,373 and 2,614,981, and a barrel date code stamp is present ahead of the receiver ring.

The walnut sporting stock has a straight-comb profile, is uncheckered, and ends in a rounded fore-end tip. Hardware details include fixed sling loops and a serrated steel buttplate with the Remington script. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.

Chambered in .257 Roberts, this configuration combines the Model 722’s compact short action with a classic mid-century sporting cartridge. The receiver is currently fitted with a staked scope mount, reflecting its drilled-and-tapped setup from the period.
