Built on a receiver marked "U.S. REMINGTON MOD. 1903," this rifle comes from Remington’s 1942 M1903 Modified production period. It retains the original stripper-clip slot and the magazine cutoff, and feeds from an internal 5-round box magazine with a hinged floorplate.
The rifle has been thoughtfully sporterized with a 20 inch sporter-contour barrel and a commercial walnut stock in a pistol-grip profile. A Pachmayr White Line recoil pad with white/black spacers is installed, setting the length of pull at 13.0 inches. Front and rear sling swivels/studs are fitted for carry or field use.
Sighting is handled by a receiver-mounted aperture/peep sight. The receiver ring has been drilled and tapped for a scope base, and scope bases are included. The original front sight has been removed as part of the sporter configuration.
The steel receiver wears a blued finish that matches the rifle’s sporter presentation, while the bolt is left in the white with a polished appearance. There is no handguard, in line with the sporterized layout.
