The Model 66 no-dash is the stainless K-frame Combat Magnum, here configured with the desirable 2.5-inch heavy barrel. The barrel is pinned, and the ejector rod is shrouded. The barrel rib and topstrap are serrated/matted to reduce glare.
This revolver features a double-action/single-action system with a smooth-faced trigger and an exposed hammer with a checkered spur. The six-shot cylinder is chambered in .357 Magnum and also accepts .38 Special cartridges.
Sighting is classic S&W: a serrated Baughman ramp front sight with a red insert paired to a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight. The round-butt grip frame is fitted with checkered hardwood Magna stocks that retain the S&W medallions.
Correct early markings and configuration details include the yoke marked "MOD. 66," the pinned barrel, and the stainless construction with a satin/brushed finish on the frame, barrel, and cylinder. As a 1970s production no-dash example, it reflects the original Combat Magnum setup in a compact, six-shot package.
