Product Description

DWM Argentine Mauser 1909 Sporterized .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle, 24 Inch Barrel, Mauser 98 Action (1910)

Produced by DWM Berlin in 1910 for the Argentine contract, this Model 1909 Mauser was later sporterized and converted to .30-06 with a 24-inch barrel. The receiver is marked "MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1909" and "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN BERLIN," with the Argentine crest on the ring. It retains the large-ring Mauser 98 action with controlled-round feed, charger clip guide, and Mauser gas-handling features, and shows matching serials on the receiver and barrel shank.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Overall Condition: Poor - Noticeable dirt, stains, significant corrosion or damage.

Bore Fouling: Severe Fouling - Extensive corrosion, pitting, or erosion.

Bore Rifling: Poor Rifling - Rifling heavily worn or filled with fouling or debris.

Specific Condition Details: Markings and patches of rust are present throughout from previous handling and use. The bore shows corrosion and pitting; it needs significant cleaning and may not be safe to fire without a thorough gunsmith inspection. Refer to the photos for a close look at the surfaces and markings.

    What's Included

    • .30-06 Springfield ammunition
    • Detachable sling swivel for sling stud

The sporterization features a cut-down hardwood stock with a rounded fore-end, a recoil crossbolt, and installed sling-swivel studs. The upper handguard has been removed, and the rifle has a 13.0-inch length of pull. The bolt body is left in the white, and the action uses the Mauser 98 straight bolt handle with a round knob.

The conversion to .30-06 is marked on the barrel as "CAL. 30-06," with a 24-inch barrel length. Feeding is via an internal, non-detachable staggered 5-round box magazine, paired with a hinged floorplate/trigger guard assembly. A 3-position wing safety is fitted to the bolt shroud.

Sighting is via a hoodless banded front blade and a military tangent rear sight with ladder and slider, retaining the original Argentine 1909 pattern rear unit. The receiver carries the Argentine national crest alongside clear DWM contract markings.

Built on the large-ring Mauser 98 platform, it retains controlled-round feed and the classic Mauser gas-handling provisions. The charger clip guide is present on the rear bridge, consistent with the 1909 pattern.
