Smith & Wesson Model 645 .45 ACP DA/SA Stainless, Second Generation, 5 Inch Full-Size Pistol (1980s, Made in USA)
Smith & Wesson's Model 645 is a Second Generation, all-stainless .45 ACP autoloader produced from 1985 to 1988 and recognized as the company's first widely marketed .45 ACP semi-auto. This full-size, 5-inch, DA/SA pistol pairs durable stainless-steel construction with practical duty features, and it carries a notable pop-culture link as Sonny Crockett's sidearm in Miami Vice. This example is in very good condition and includes two single-stack magazines.

What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 645 pistol
- Two 8-round steel single-stack magazines with witness holes (Model 645 compatible)
The Model 645 reflects S&W's Second Generation design ethos with an all-stainless steel frame and slide, a 5-inch barrel, and a full-size profile. It measures approximately 8.75 inches in overall length and weighs about 37.5 ounces unloaded, delivering the solid feel and balance expected from an all-steel .45 ACP.
Its DA/SA action is supported by an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker with a red fire-dot indicator, a left-side magazine release, and a smooth, curved trigger. An exposed spur hammer provides a positive, traditional control surface.
The slide features rear serrations and a contrasting finish treatment with brushed flats and matte/bead-blast surfaces. Black one-piece wraparound synthetic grips with S&W medallions offer a secure, consistent hold.
Sights are fixed iron: a pinned ramp front with a colored insert, paired with a fixed square-notch rear that is drift-adjustable in its dovetail. This setup provides a clear, durable sight picture suited to the pistol's full-size role.
Historically, the Model 645 was S&W's first broadly marketed .45 ACP autoloader and the direct forerunner to the later Model 4506. Its 1980s provenance and on-screen association with Miami Vice add recognized context to an already significant stainless DA/SA platform. This pistol includes two 8-round single-stack magazines with witness holes, aligning with the listed 8+1 capacity.
