What’s Included
- Ruger Old Army .44 percussion revolver (1989)
The Old Army follows Ruger’s Blackhawk-style top-strap layout and uses a six-shot cap-and-ball cylinder. It operates in single-action with a spur hammer and incorporates cylinder safety recesses between nipples for secure carry positions.
Construction is all steel, including the non-brass grip frame, with a uniform blued finish over investment-cast components. The under-barrel loading lever uses a plunger system with a muzzle-end latch for charging chambers at the bench or in the field. A factory "Read Manual" warning is rollmarked on top of the barrel.
Sighting is fully adjustable: a ramped, pinned front blade with a serrated ramp pairs with a fully adjustable square-notch rear. Smooth walnut grips with Ruger medallions complement the full-size frame and provide a classic Ruger look.
This example is designed for .457 round ball and black powder only. It is a .44 caliber, six-shot percussion revolver manufactured in 1989 in the USA with a 7.5-inch steel barrel and blued steel cylinder.
