The right receiver flat is marked with the crown cypher over ENFIELD 1878 and the Mark II designation, aligning with the 1877–1889 production window for this series.
The buttstock’s brass plaque is engraved "No 66 BAROLI Police dept," indicating police department property and adding documented provenance to the rifle. Additional inspection and property marks are present across the rifle, reflecting official British government acceptance and service.
It is chambered in .577/.450 Martini-Henry and uses the robust falling block action with an internal striker. An external cocking indicator sits on the right side of the receiver, a hallmark of the pattern. Capacity is single-shot (1rd).
Infantry configuration details include a full-length walnut fore-end, two barrel bands, and sling attachment points at the front band and trigger-guard bow.
