Rock Island Arsenal M1903 .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle – Raritan Arsenal RA-P Rebuild with Springfield Armory SA 4-42 Barrel
This Rock Island Arsenal M1903 combines a WWI-era receiver with a WWII-dated Springfield Armory barrel, documented by RA-P rebuild markings. The receiver falls within the RIA double-heat-treated range, and the rifle retains its military configuration with a parkerized finish. Not all original parts. The SA 4-42 flaming bomb-marked barrel and clear stock proofs make this a well-documented arsenal-rebuilt example.

What’s Included
- Leather M1907-pattern service sling (installed)
Built on a Rock Island Arsenal receiver manufactured in 1918, this rifle was later overhauled at Raritan Arsenal and is RA-P stamped. The combination of a WWI receiver and a WWII-era barrel reflects its documented service life and rebuild history. Not all original parts.
The barrel is a Springfield Armory replacement dated April 1942 (SA 4-42) with the flaming bomb ordnance mark. It measures 24 in and is chambered in .30-06. The rifle wears a parkerized finish, with the receiver showing a gray tone consistent with arsenal refinish practices.
Military features include an internal 5-round magazine with stripper-clip capability, a turned-down bolt handle, and a milled trigger guard/floorplate. A bayonet lug is present. The magazine cutoff lever is marked "ON." There is no receiver-mounted aperture sight, aligning with the 1903 pattern.
The walnut straight-grip stock has sling swivels and a 1903-pattern walnut handguard with the rear hump. Stock and metal markings include the RA-P rebuild stamp, a circled P proof, a small S at the stock’s bolt-handle recess, and SA 4-42 with a flaming bomb on the barrel. Length of pull is 13.0 in. Country of origin is the United States, and the rifle traces to the WWI era with a later Raritan Arsenal rebuild.
