What’s Included
- Winchester Model 1890 Second Model .22 WRF pump-action rifle
- Removable inner magazine tube
This is a true Second Model, identified by its blued frame, right-side takedown screw, and the absence of the external bolt-locking cutouts found on later variants. The top tang is marked "MODEL 1890 - WINCHESTER - TRADE MARK." and the barrel is stamped "22 W.R.F.", consistent with the model and era.
The rifle features a 24-inch octagon steel barrel paired with an under-barrel tubular magazine. The magazine uses a removable inner tube with a knurled end plug and holds 12 rounds of .22 WRF, offering the correct capacity for this chambering.
Walnut furniture includes a straight-grip, smooth buttstock and a grooved slide/fore-end for positive purchase. Sight picture is provided by a dovetailed front sight and an adjustable rear leaf with elevator, matching period Winchester configuration.
The pump-action system runs an exposed hammer and a blued steel receiver. A slam-fire capable trigger is present, representative of the mechanism on these rifles. Overall construction is steel with a traditional blued finish throughout.
This takedown configuration allows the barrel and receiver assembly to separate for transport or maintenance. A lower-tang serial is present, with an additional five-digit number observed on the receiver front, as noted.
