What’s Included
- DWM Mauser Model 1893 Z.A.R. C-Series sporterized bolt-action rifle chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57mm)
This rifle is built on the small-ring Mauser 1893-pattern action with controlled-round feed, a long non-rotating claw extractor, and a square-bottom bolt face. The bolt retains its period look in-the-white with a straight bolt handle. Feeding is via an internal five-round box magazine with a hinged floorplate; the floorplate number is non-matching.
Contract and maker details are present, including the DWM BERLIN rollmark on the side rail, an inspector stamp on the barrel shank, and a circled inspection mark on the triggerguard/floorplate. The rifle follows the Z.A.R. C-Series contract format with a C-prefix serial style from the 1897–1899 production window in Germany.
Sporterization work includes the barrel cut to 21 inches (stepped and blued), installation of a commercial ramped blade front sight, and a reshaped military stock with a steel buttplate. The handguard and barrel bands were removed to reduce weight and profile, and sling swivels were installed. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
The rear sight configuration is the tangent base with a slider and metric graduations; the ladder is missing as noted in the Condition section. The rifle retains a blued finish on the receiver and barrel, and it is chambered in 7mm Mauser (7x57mm), a cartridge closely associated with the Model 1893.
