As an all-stainless third-generation design, the Model 4006 pairs a stainless slide and frame with a matte bead-blast finish for a uniform, duty-ready look. This standard, non-TSW configuration has no accessory rail and retains the classic features of the series.
The operating system is DA/SA with an ambidextrous, slide-mounted safety/decocker and an external spur hammer. Sights are fixed 3-dot, with a front blade carrying a single white dot and a rear unit with two white dots for a clear, consistent sight picture.
Factory specification includes a 4 in. barrel and 11+1 capacity. This pistol includes three steel, double-stack 11-round magazines; an "ACCU-GUIDE" marked magazine body was observed among them.
Ergonomics and handling are supported by a one-piece wraparound black textured grip with S&W medallion and rear vertical slide serrations for positive manipulation. The pistol was made in the USA.
Historically, the Model 4006 launched with the .40 S&W cartridge in 1990 and saw wide U.S. law-enforcement service, including adoption by the California Highway Patrol, underscoring its significance in the caliber’s early duty use.
