The GP100’s 6-inch heavy barrel combines a full-length underlug, integral top rib, and a recessed/target-style crown, delivering a rigid, well-balanced platform. The fluted, six-shot cylinder uses Ruger’s triple-locking system (front, rear, and bottom), and the revolver is built from through-hardened stainless steel with a uniform satin stainless finish.
The rear sight has been removed and replaced with a two-piece scope base and rings, supporting a mounted Leupold M8 4x Extended Eye Relief pistol scope in a matching silver finish. This setup is secure and purpose-built for handgun scope use, offering clear magnification and generous eye relief.
Factory features remain where appropriate, including the pinned/ramped front blade for a quick-change front sight option, DA/SA action with a transfer-bar safety system, and an exposed, checkered-spur hammer. The grip is Ruger’s black rubber with hardwood insert panels in the classic Lett style, providing a secure, hand-filling hold.
Markings include the Ruger phoenix logo and correct barrel rollmarks: "Ruger GP100" and ".357 Magnum Cal." on the right, and "Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc., Southport, Conn. U.S.A." on the left. Made in the United States in 1988, this configuration is cataloged at approximately 46 oz, reflecting the robust build quality of the stainless KGP-161.
