This commemorative M9 highlights the second decade of U.S. service with distinctive gold-colored legends: left slide "THE SECOND DECADE 1985–2005 BERETTA U.S.A. CORP. – ACCOKEEK, MD" and right slide "AMERICA'S DEFENDER BERETTA M9 – 92FS CAL. 9MM PARABELLUM." It follows the commemorative serial format "M9-05-####" and bears the Accokeek, Maryland rollmark.
The pistol retains the M9's DA/SA, short-recoil locking-block system with an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker (Type F). It uses the classic open-top slide and a non-railed, full-size alloy frame with a slanted 92FS-style dust cover and a lanyard loop at the heel.
Sighting is the fixed M9 two-dot configuration with a white dot front and a single white dot rear notch. Smooth wood grips with Beretta medallions and a spur hammer complete the commemorative presentation.
Chambered in 9mm Luger, it uses a 4.9-inch steel barrel and a 15+1 capacity. This example was manufactured in 2005 as part of the "America's Defender – The Second Decade 1985–2005" anniversary series and includes the factory oak display case set with commemorative medal, service-branch medallions strip, and plaque.
