Built on an early-war Springfield Armory receiver dated to approximately June 1942, this M1 Garand carries the receiver drawing and heat-lot marking D28287-19SA B-15. The combination of its WWII-era receiver and later service components makes it a noteworthy example for those who value historical receivers assembled with modern, shootable parts.
The rifle is fitted with a commercially marked .30-06 replacement barrel dated 02/2019. The barrel length is 24 inches, and the bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling, aligning with the recent barrel date and careful upkeep.
Walnut furniture from the Civilian Marksmanship Program is installed, including a CMP-marked replacement stock and handguards bearing a boxed CMP cartouche. The stock features a checkered steel trapdoor buttplate and a walnut oil/sealer finish that complements the parkerized metalwork.
It retains standard M1 features: a gas-operated long-stroke piston with rotating bolt, a slotted gas cylinder lock screw, and an 8-round en-bloc clip system. Sighting is classic M1, with an aperture rear sight featuring windage and elevation drums and a wing-protected front blade integral to the gas cylinder. The rifle shows a parkerized gray/green phosphate finish over steel, with front stacking swivel and sling swivels present.
