Walther P1 9mm Luger, 1972 West German, Pre-1975 Thin-Slide, DA/SA, Interarms Import
This 1972 Walther P1 is a West German-made, Interarms-imported example with the sought-after pre-1975 thin-slide configuration. It features the classic open-top slide with a pivoting locking block, a DA/SA action with slide-mounted safety/decocker, and an aluminum-alloy frame. The pistol carries crisp German eagle/N proof marks, a clear "P1 Kal. 9mm" slide marking with Walther banner and a "11/72" date code with four-point star. The right-side slide is stamped "125," matching the last three digits of the frame serial, and the bore condition is excellent.

- Black leather flap holster
- Black checkered synthetic grip panel(s) (not installed)
- Two 8-round steel single-stack magazines; one Walther-marked "P38 9mm," the other unmarked
The P1’s aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down while retaining the proven P38-pattern operating system. It is finished in black with brown checkered synthetic grips installed, and it uses a single-column magazine system with a heel-type release and lanyard loop at the grip base.
Controls and features include a DA/SA trigger, exposed hammer, and a slide-mounted safety/decocker marked with a red "F" index. The slide has rear serrations, an open-top design, and a fixed sighting arrangement consisting of a fixed blade front and an integral rear notch.
Markings are extensive and correct for a 1972 West German production gun. The left side of the slide is marked "P1 Kal. 9mm" with the Walther banner and a "11/72" date code with four-point star. Multiple German eagle/N nitro proof and acceptance marks appear on the slide, frame, and barrel lug. The right side of the slide is stamped "125," matching the last three digits of the frame serial.
An Interarms, Alexandria, Virginia import mark is present on the frame, confirming U.S. import history. The pre-1975 thin-slide configuration, combined with its clean bore and sharp rifling, makes this a strong, well-documented example from the early 1970s.
