The pistol features an Augusta Arsenal "A.A." rebuild stamp with a uniform phosphate refinish in matte gray Parkerizing. Military markings include the G.H.D. inspector mark and "P" proof, plus frame legends "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY." The slide bears the "REMINGTON RAND INC., SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A." legend and vertical rear serrations.
It was re-numbered with an N-prefix serial during a later arsenal rebuild or inventory cycle, a detail often seen on ordnance-renumbered service pistols. This example was subsequently sold through the Civilian Marksmanship Program and is classified by CMP as Service Grade, with documentation and case included.
In G.I. configuration, it retains the short, checkered trigger; checkered magazine release; manual thumb safety, grip safety, and half-cock notch; arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop; and wide spur hammer. Sights are the fixed G.I. pattern with a staked front blade and a small dovetailed rear. Brown checkered plastic grip panels with reinforcement rings complete the service-issue look.
Built on a forged steel frame and receiver, this full-size 1911 is chambered in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel and a 7+1 capacity. The action is single-action, short-recoil, consistent with standard U.S. service configuration of the period.
The included magazine is aftermarket steel (marked "MADE IN ITALY") with numbered witness holes and is not original to the pistol.
