The Model 722 platform is a compact Remington short action built with a two-lug, cock-on-open bolt. Chambered in .222 Remington with a 26-inch sporter barrel, it represents the combination that introduced this cartridge and helped establish its reputation. This example was made in the United States.
The receiver is drilled and tapped and currently outfitted with a Buehler Orinda, CA marked one-piece base and rings. The base and rings are installed and ready for a scope of your choice.
Factory iron sights are present in component form: a fixed front ramp with bead is installed on the barrel, and the factory open rear sight assembly is included but not installed.
The walnut stock has a straight comb and uncheckered panels, with sling swivel studs installed. A checkered buttplate marked Remington is fitted, and the length of pull measures 13.25 inches. Feeding is via an internal, top-load box magazine without a hinged floorplate. A barrel shank stamp reading "XX over 5" is present.
