Built for the U.S. market and marked "MOD. USA," this compact Bernardelli pairs a steel frame and slide with a polished blue finish. Italian proof marks and the XX8 date code confirm 1972 production, and the import mark identifies The Spesco Corporation, Atlanta, Georgia, as the importer.
The pistol uses a simple blowback, single-action-only system with an external rowel spur hammer. It features both a slide-mounted safety and a frame-mounted safety, along with a heel-style magazine release. There is no external slide-stop lever, consistent with the model’s layout.
Its 3.5-inch barrel and single-stack 7+1 capacity suit the compact profile. Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a fixed integral ramped blade front and a drift-in dovetailed rear notch. The slide carries rear serrations, and the top rib is serrated to reduce glare.
Grips are black checkered with the VB logo and Bernardelli crest medallion, complementing the polished blue finish. The bore condition is excellent, with sharp rifling, supporting the pistol’s functional appeal alongside its clear markings and import history.
