This Spectrum uses a locked-breech, tilting-barrel operating system with a true DAO striker-fired action. The trigger is double-action-only, smooth-faced, and second-strike capable, offering consistent ignition on hard primers without a mandatory slide cycle.
Controls are streamlined for carry with a dehorned slide and a small slide-lock that still provides last-round hold-open. The reversible magazine release allows setup for left- or right-handed use. Field-stripping is straightforward via a screwdriver-actuated slotted takedown pin, and no trigger press is required.
Ergonomics are enhanced by soft-touch elastomer overmold grip panels featuring the Taurus bull logo, plus matching soft-touch panels on the slide for added purchase when charging. Fixed, low-profile integral sights include a front ramp and a rear square notch.
Compact dimensions and light weight make this micro .380 easy to carry: a 2.8 in barrel, 5.40 in overall length, 3.82 in height, 0.89 in width, and approximately 11.6 oz unloaded. Capacity is 6+1, and this example includes both flush and finger-rest magazines. The model has been discontinued, adding extra appeal for buyers seeking a U.S.-built Taurus with distinctive features.
