Chambered in .45-70 Government with a five-round tubular magazine, it combines classic Marlin steel-and-walnut construction with practical upgrades including an extended scout-style Picatinny rail, hammer spur extension, and sling swivel studs.
Factory features include a solid-top, side-eject receiver that is drilled and tapped for optics, a blued steel finish, and American walnut pistol-grip furniture with cut checkering and a Marlin-logo ventilated recoil pad. Iron sights are a hooded front blade on a ramp and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight on the barrel.
