Built by Zastava in Yugoslavia in 1965, this M57 is a single-action, short-recoil, locked-breech pistol chambered for 7.62x25mm Tokarev. It is a full-size, all-steel handgun with a 4.6 inch barrel and a 9+1 capacity.
Construction details include a blued steel slide and frame, fixed iron sights (blade front, notch rear), angled rear slide serrations, and an external spur hammer. It retains its captive recoil spring and a lanyard loop at the heel of the grip. The grips are ribbed black polymer panels with circular medallions.
Markings are correct and legible: the slide is inscribed "7,62mm M57." with the Yugoslav crest roll-mark on the top of the slide. Import and origin stamps include "PW ARMS REDMOND WA" and "ZASTAVA YUGOSLAVIA." Matching serial numbers are present on the slide, frame, and barrel components.
This example includes an importer-added, frame-mounted manual safety and also has a half-cock notch and a magazine disconnect. The bore is clean and shiny with well-defined lands and grooves, consistent with the noted condition.
