What’s Included
- F.lli Pietta 1860 Army .44 cap-and-ball percussion revolver
This six-shot, cap & ball percussion revolver is chambered in .44 and built with an 8-inch round, wedge-retained barrel. It uses a creeping loading lever with a front latch for secure operation and features safety pins between nipples. The barrel has a 1:30 twist suited for traditional black powder projectiles.
Construction and finish are true to form: a steel frame and receiver with a color case-hardened finish, a blued barrel and cylinder, and a one-piece walnut grip. The backstrap is steel and the trigger guard is brass, capturing the period-correct look and feel.
The rebated cylinder is blued and roll-engraved with a naval battle scene bearing the legend ENGAGED 16 MAY 1843. Markings include BLACK POWDER ONLY .44 CAL. and Italian proof marks, including the star over PN black-powder proof. The revolver has matching serial numbers on the frame and trigger guard.
Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a brass blade front sight and a hammer notch rear sight. As a black powder percussion design, it is a true Cap & Ball configuration that aligns with the historical profile of the 1860 Army while being a reliable modern reproduction manufactured in Italy (MPN: CAS44).
