Smith & Wesson Model 65-1 .357 Magnum, 4-Inch Pinned Heavy Barrel, Stainless K-Frame, 6-Shot DA/SA Revolver
This Smith & Wesson Model 65-1 is a stainless K-frame, fixed-sight .357 Magnum service revolver featuring a 4-inch heavy, pinned barrel and a six-shot fluted cylinder. The -1 engineering change aligns with S&W’s 1977 K-frame gas-ring relocation era, and the pinned-barrel construction is a feature S&W discontinued circa 1982. Factory checkered walnut Magna stocks with S&W medallions complement the stainless finish, and the bore condition is excellent.

What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 65-1 revolver
The Model 65-1 is a stainless steel K-frame .357 Magnum with double-action/single-action operation, an exposed hammer with a checkered spur, and a hammer-mounted firing pin. Its 4-inch heavy, pinned barrel provides a solid, service-oriented configuration paired with a six-shot fluted cylinder.
Fixed iron sights consist of a serrated ramp front sight with a pinned blade and a fixed rear notch milled into the topstrap. Controls include the standard Smith & Wesson serrated cylinder-release thumbpiece.
This example has a round-butt grip frame fitted with factory checkered walnut Magna stocks, each inset with S&W medallions. The revolver wears an even stainless finish on the frame and cylinder.
Markings include "TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF." and "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." The yoke cut is stamped "MOD.
65-" with additional assembly stamps present, consistent with factory practice.
Design context includes the -1 engineering change associated with the 1977 K-frame gas-ring relocation, and the pinned-barrel construction feature that S&W phased out around 1982, placing this configuration within a notable production period for the Model 65 line.
