Built in West Germany in 1964, this P38 represents the post-war Ulm/Donau commercial production and is marked "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. P38 Cal. 9mm." The frame carries the Ulm proof house stag-antler, confirming commercial proofing.
The pistol uses the P38’s short-recoil, locked-breech system with a locking block and features DA/SA operation. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a loaded-chamber indicator, with left-side ejection and the P38’s top cover with a longitudinal channel.
Sighting is via a fixed front blade on the barrel band and a fixed rear notch integral to the slide. The standard 4.9 in barrel and 8+1 capacity match the classic P38 configuration in 9mm Luger.
The frame underside shows the PW ARMS, Redmond, WA import mark. Additional details include black checkered two-panel synthetic grips, a lanyard loop at the butt, and slide assembly digits that match. The included factory magazines are Walther-marked at the base.
