The Bolo configuration brings the compact 3.9-inch barrel and shortened profile associated with post-WWI commercial C96 production. This example features the NS-stamped hammer that denotes the updated New Safety system, along with a blued steel finish, external hammer, and two-piece hardwood grip panels.
Feeding is via the integral fixed 10-round magazine, loaded through stripper-clip guides cut into the receiver bridge. Sights include a fixed front blade and a tangent rear graduated from 50 to 800 meters, retaining the classic C96 sighting arrangement.
Markings are crisp and correct for the type: MAUSER banner on the right frame, "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR" legend on the left, and "7.63 GERMANY" caliber/country marking. Commercial crown proofs are present, and the pistol bears a St. Alb., VT import legend.
Production aligns with the Weimar era (circa 1923–1929). Multiple matching serial numbers are observed on major components, and the backstrap includes the stock slot with a lanyard ring—classic C96 features valued by collectors and enthusiasts of early 20th-century Mauser pistols.
