What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 9mm pistol
- Three 7-round single-column steel magazines with witness holes
The Model 39-2 represents S&W’s first-generation 9mm DA/SA design, using short-recoil, tilting-barrel operation and a single-stack magazine. The A-prefix serial range and listed era place this example in the late 1970s to early 1980s timeframe.
Its aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down while the blued steel slide provides a classic finish. The pistol operates in double-action/single-action and includes a left-side, slide-mounted safety/decocker and a magazine disconnect. A push-button magazine release and a spurred hammer with a lightening hole round out the controls.
Sighting is handled by a serrated, ramped front sight paired with a square-notch, screw-adjustable rear sight. The slide carries vertical rear serrations for positive manipulation and is marked "PAT'S PENDING."
Ergonomics are enhanced by checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions. The single-stack configuration offers a 7+1 capacity, and this pistol comes with three matching 7-round magazines, each with witness holes.
