This Third-Generation SAA is configured with a 4.75 inch barrel and a fluted six-shot cylinder, chambered in .44-40 WCF. It uses a classic single-action mechanism with fixed iron sights — a fixed blade up front and a topstrap notch at the rear — matching traditional Colt patterns.
The revolver wears high-polish bluing on the barrel, cylinder, and grip frame, paired with a color case-hardened frame. Steel construction is used throughout, including the blued cylinder and the case-hardened frame, providing the correct materials and finish for this model.
It features the transverse spring-latch base pin and the standard plow-handle grip shape. The black checkered hard rubber grips carry Colt medallions and the eagle motif, and the hammer has a checkered spur for positive control.
Factory provenance accompanies this revolver. The Colt Archive letter verifies the configuration and records a single-gun shipment on February 2, 2007 to Simmons Gun Specialties in Spring Hill, Kansas, confirming its documented history and production timeframe in the United States.
