Built on the New Model Blackhawk pattern, this single-action Vaquero uses Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system and an external hammer with a wide, serrated spur for confident cocking. The revolver retains the traditional fixed-sight layout preferred on this model.
The two-tone finish pairs a blued barrel, blued six-shot fluted cylinder, and blued cylinder frame/topstrap with a silver-toned grip frame/trigger guard and ejector-rod housing, giving the revolver a classic yet distinctive appearance. The ejector assembly adds a period-correct control detail.
Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a front blade and a rear notch milled into the topstrap. The 4 5/8 inch barrel balances carry and sight radius well within the Vaquero line’s classic profile.
Stocks are smooth varnished hardwood with Ruger medallions, complementing the revolver’s traditional styling. This example is from the original large-frame Vaquero production (1993–2005) and is chambered in .357 Magnum with a 6-round capacity.
