The Modell 1517 uses Anschutz's Match 64–pattern rimfire action, known for its precise bolt fit and consistent ignition. The bolt has a swept handle with a large tapered knob for confident operation. A two-position, right-side safety includes a red fire indicator. The steel receiver wears a polished blued finish.
The 25.5-inch heavy-contour steel barrel is cut with a recessed target crown to help protect the muzzle. Chambered in .17 HMR, the configuration supports stable, precise shooting with quality rimfire ammunition.
The right-hand walnut stock features a wide beavertail fore-end for steady support, stippled (pebble-textured) grip panels for control, and a rubber buttpad. An inletted UIT/Anschütz accessory rail with a graduated scale provides a secure interface for compatible accessories. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
No sights are installed. Two-piece scope bases are already mounted to the receiver's 11 mm dovetail for straightforward optic installation. Feeding is via a detachable 5-round steel box magazine, yielding a 5+1 capacity. Proofs include CIP symbols, the DE stamp, and J.G. ANSCHÜTZ Ulm Germany.
