Product Description

    Marlin Model 37 Pump-Action .22 S/L/LR, 24" Barrel, Takedown, Blued Steel and Walnut, Late 1920s–Early 1930s

This Marlin Model 37 is a classic slide-action rimfire from the late 1920s–early 1930s, built with blued steel and walnut and designed to run .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle. It features takedown construction, an open-top receiver with top ejection, and a full-length tubular magazine. Collectors and enthusiasts will recognize it as part of Marlin’s early pump-action rimfire series with period-correct iron sights and factory Marlin logo buttplate.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Overall Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: The metal shows noticeable finish thinning with scattered handling marks and areas of light surface oxidation; all markings remain legible. The walnut stock and ribbed forend display moderate to heavy handling wear with dents, dings, and finish wear, and no major structural cracks noted. The bore shows visible wear consistent with age, with rifling present and areas that may exhibit frosting or light pitting.

    What’s Included

    • Marlin Model 37 pump-action rifle chambered in .22 S/L/LR

The Model 37 represents Marlin’s early slide-action rimfire design, produced in the late 1920s–early 1930s. The barrel is clearly marked "22 S, L & L R," confirming its compatibility with .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges.

It uses a takedown system operated by a right-side knurled screw, paired with an open-top receiver and top ejection. This configuration reflects Marlin’s approach to a serviceable, compact rimfire that was easy to maintain and transport.

The rifle feeds from a full-length tubular magazine with a 15+1 capacity and wears a 24" steel barrel. The blued finish and steel receiver align with the period construction and give the gun a traditional Marlin profile.

Stocked in walnut, it features a straight-grip buttstock, ribbed walnut forend, and a factory "Marlin" logo buttplate. Sighting is handled by a drift-adjustable dovetailed blade up front and a semi-buckhorn rear leaf with a stepped elevator, offering practical adjustment with period-correct hardware.

Operation is pump-action with an exposed hammer, and the rifle was made in the United States as part of Marlin’s early rimfire slide-action lineage.
