What's Included
- Remington New Model Army .44 cap-and-ball revolver
This New Model Army retains the classic Remington solid top-strap frame, a robust design that defined the model during the Civil War era. It is a single-action, six-shot percussion revolver with an under-barrel hinged loading lever and plunger (rammer/ball-seater head missing), configured for cap-and-ball operation in .44 caliber.
The 8-inch octagonal steel barrel is paired with fixed sights that include a cone-style front blade. The top of the barrel carries the two-line legend: "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A."
Construction is steel for the frame, cylinder, and receiver, accented by a brass trigger guard. Two-piece walnut grips complete the period-correct configuration and handling profile of the revolver.
Manufactured in 1864 in the United States, this example represents a true Civil War era Remington sidearm and qualifies as an antique. Note: there is a minor discrepancy between the supplied serial and the number stamped on the underside of the barrel.
